Origins

Genesis Today’s Vegan Greens contains a rich blend of dark, leafy greens that grow on land and in oceans all over the world. Dark green leafy plants such as spinach, kale and kelp are considered superfoods since they are packed with Vitamins A, C and K as well as iron, calcium, magnesium and other essential minerals.

Greens also contains flax seeds which are rich in lignans, a type of phytonutrient found in some seeds, fruits and vegetables but most abundantly in flax. Flax seeds are also an important source of Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid which is found in other seeds and nuts.

In addition to more common varieties of green superfoods, Essential Greens also contains spirulina, a type of cyanobacteria similar to blue-green algae found in salt water and some large fresh water lakes. Spirulina is considered by some to be a complete food on its own since it contains many essential vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and 18 different amino acids.
